BLUE FIELD

A field adorned with blooming irises, a subject that inspired Monet and Van Gogh, gave me a creative impulse as well. This is how this abstract canvas came to be in my Botanical series of modern art pieces. From the very beginning, captivated by the endless field of white flowers at the end of the day, I already knew I would return to my studio and immediately start creating my new nature painting — that’s how strong my desire to transform my impressions into art was.
I chose not to mimic the great masters of painting in terms of plot and technique, allowing my author's style to manifest itself brighter. I applied expressive strokes of white onto a rich background consisting of blue, aquamarine and purple hues. But that was just the beginning. I wanted my flowers to literally rise above the space of canvas and I began working on their color and shape. I generously applied shades of yellow and pale pink over a white base layer, adding visual and tangible volume to my irises. When I saw them detach and hover in the air over the blue background, I stopped. Excessive detailing could have weakened this effect of lightness.
Now I’m happy to have saved the impressions of that place. My view of nature and my sense of beauty have always resonated with my viewers and turned them into my kindred spirits.
