Sets of paintings are divided into several types.
- One kind of sets assumes that one image will be divided into several canvases.
- Another type of sets are different images that have a common theme or color scheme.
Depending on the type of set you choose, you can place it in your space in different ways.
The most frequent request among our clients is triptychs and diptychs for the living room. Not surprising, since it is in the living room that usually has the largest unfilled walls that require decor.
At what distance should the paintings from one set be hung?
If you decide to order a landscape divided into 3 canvases, in order for the artwork to look the most holistically, we advise you to place each of the parts at a distance of 1-1.5" from the other.
Pay attention to the color of the walls against which the paintings will hang. If the color of the walls is close to the prevailing color of the paintings, the distance may be longer, but if you are going to hang, for example, white paintings on a black wall, then the distance should be 0.7 "to 1".
As for the level of placement of a set of paintings, you can mark the wall with tape or create mock-ups from cardboard and experiment with the placement and spacing of the artworks.
We recommend hanging the paintings at eye level, in the center of the wall. In order to choose the size, please use a measuring tape and think about the size of the painting that will be most comfortable for you to perceive.
Also, don't forget about personal preferences. If you want the set to become the central element in your room, you can pay attention to the huge canvases that will cover your wall up and down.
In this case, we recommend choosing the oversized paintings with nature motifs or bright abstract motifs.
How to place diptychs and triptychs on the wall so that they look the most appropriate.
If you plan to purchase a set with one image divided into several parts, we do not recommend hanging these parts on different walls, as the motif and integrity of the canvas will be lost.
If you are tempted to buy a diptych of 2 paintings of different motives, then we can offer you to place them:
- on one wall, maintaining a small distance,
- on opposite walls so that the paintings are side by side to each other,
- on adjacent walls, for example in the space on both sides of the door.
The latter option is great for decorating a reception or office, as well as a hallway.
Our artists have also prepared bold and bright sets of 5 paintings that you can place in a classic way or experiment with placement options.
This kind of set is suitable for creative modern interiors as well as for studio apartments.
When choosing a set of paintings, remember that it will most likely become the center of attention in your space, so minimize the use of other decor items in your interior if possible. We also advise you to place the set in such a way that it does not overlap and not obstructed by other objects.
We also prepared some information about the paintings for your bathroom.
