Discover our absolutely talented emerging artist Nora. We were thrilled to start working with Nora. Her works are provoking, highly experimental, often inspired by the colors and surroundings.
“Since my childhood, I always wanted to express my thoughts, show the world how I feel. Then I discovered artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Willem de Kooning, Jackson Pollock and Cy Twombly and my life has completely changed.
Abstract painting is my form of therapy. I draw when I feel bad or emotionally awake. My paintings are inspired by colors, textures, some crazy ideas.”
Talking about the process
Nora`s paintings are vivid and reminiscent of abstract expressionism from New York in the '50s and '60s.
She shows a lot of feelings and emotions through her works using abstraction and broad strokes of color. Sometimes it feels like a stream of consciousness. You can notice freedom of expression in every painting of hers. Nora’s work often reflects her fascination with the subconscious mind.
The most fascinating thing is Nora`s technique: starting with an empty canvas on the floor she draws, writes, drips paint, and just has fun with whatever she may feel that day. Her favorite method is to use expressive brushstrokes for building up richly colored and textured paintings.
After the canvas is up on the wall, she starts to use the brush more and let the painting take on its own path. She continues to layer with acrylics, oils, pencils, etc. until a real depth of emotion and idea starts to emerge.
She says some paintings may get reworked 3-4 times and long hours while another may just take 20 minutes.
Nowadays, for many people, modern art helps find an inner voice, explore the connections between people.
Through Nora`s abstract artwork you may find true inspiration, rediscover something within yourself. Don`t be afraid to express yourself!
We hope you will enjoy the works of our new favorite artist as much as we do!
